Canada Day Fundraising Ideas

Table of Contents

July 1, 2016 is Canada’s 149th birthday so we wanted to salute our Canadian friends and share some ideas for your Canada Day fundraisers.

Community Picnic

Picnics and Canada Day go hand in hand, so a community picnic at a local park can’t fail. It’s a great occasion to fire up the barbecue and sell burgers, hot dogs, sausages, and whatever else you might throw on the grill. Be sure to consult with your city’s public events authority to apply for the necessary permits.

Fireworks Show

Canada Day wouldn’t be complete without a fireworks show, and there are always lots of them going on. Apply for the necessary permits and see about putting together a fireworks display of your own. If you choose to do this, it will be a good idea to hire professionals to take care of the fireworks. Revenue for the events will come in the form of ticket sales, but you can also try to sell food and drinks as well.

Fireworks Clean Up

If you don’t want to do your own fireworks show, you can instead offer to clean up the mess left after the fireworks in your town are done. There will be all kinds of empty bottles, wrappers, and spent fireworks on the ground and cleaning it all up can be quite the monumental task. Take advantage of the fact that no one wants to do it by offering to do a cleanup as a Canada Day fundraiser.

No matter what you end up doing for your Canada Day fundraiser, remember to have fun and wear a smile. And of course, wave a Canadian flag and show the world what a proud Canuck you are!
